Percussive effects? The metroid prime soundtrack uses a lot of instruments. Can I just ask if anyone has ever found a set of soundfonts from Super Metroid? That shit sounds GREAT. Share this post. SUPER NINTENDO / SNES ROMS INFORMATION
Super Nintendo, also known as Super Famicom was released in November 21st, 1990 in Japan. Within a few hours after the release, the first batch of 300,000 devices was sold out instantly. The console quickly gained popularity and began to dominate the Japanese market. To enter the international market fully armed, Nintendo decided not to rush with the release of Super Famicom outside of Japan. They decided to build up a good base of games before releasing the console to other regions. The system was released in the US only in September 1st, 1991 and became known as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, abbreviated - SNES. Sega Genesis has been dominant in North America for more than two years. The SNES showed a more beautiful picture than the Sega Mega Drive. The system could impressively reproduce video effects and supported the following hardware features: turning, transparency, zooming, stretching, compression and rotation. This could not be repeated by any other system at that time. The number of colours for those times was huge, not every graphic card could reproduce the same. At that time the standard was 256 colours. The sound quality was also not comparable with consoles of that time. In 1990, Super Famicom could easily synthesize music and voice. But, of course, there were significant limitations with the volume. A slot for cartridges could expand the capabilities of the console, so it could have real 3D games with the corresponding coprocessors in the cartridges. Nowadays, you don’t need to look for such cartridges, all you need is to head to our SNES roms page and download proper Super Nintendo roms adequate for your system.

Who was it that had the 'brilliant' idea to submit such low time limits for the tracks? 10 is for the OST, not the severely trimmed rips here. BTW, same guy who composed this soundtrack worked on the Prime soundtracks too, which sport just as amazing music, except with far better sound engineering thanks to better hardware.

If You Are going to have more people on this page you should increase the time limit. This is an amazing OST but needs work. Perhaps by making a separate track for the Orchestrated versions and increasing play time for the songs.

Submitted by tears Rating: 5/10 This 'Sound in Action' album is notorious for its poor quality at the source. The Metroid tracks are recorded from the game (you can hear game sounds at the very beginning of each track) and the SM tracks are just generally low audio quality. You would be better off ripping the loops themselves from the game.
