Gameplay
Ruins of Myth Drannortakes place from an isometric third-person perspective, similar to theBaldur's Gate series. Unlike Baldur's Gate and other Infinity Enginegames, Ruins of Myth Drannor features turn-based combat rather than real-time combat. The game uses three-dimensional characters over pre-rendered two-dimensional backgrounds.
The game is a dungeon crawl, with a focus on hack and slash combat and the exploration of large dungeons. Story progression and interaction with other characters is a minimal part of the game, although there is some interaction with non-player characters (NPCs) and other in-game characters.
Plot
The story is set in the city of New Phlan. A dracolich and his sorcerer queen have seized control of the Mythal, the ancient magic that once protected the long abandoned elven city of Myth Drannor. Once the elven ruin is completely in their thrall, the cult intends to expand its domination one city—and one soul—at a time. Pool of Radiance Ruins of Myth Drannor Free Download.
Four heroes are sent to Myth Drannor by Elminster to stop the dracolich and the sorcerer queen from using the power of the Mythal to conquer Faerûn. They must travel to all areas of Myth Drannor, including dungeons and catacombs beneath the city, in an attempt to stop evil from taking over the region.
Development
Producer Chuck Yager said the game was originally designed using the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition rules, but was converted to the 3rd edition rules partway through development.While Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn implemented a few elements from the 3rd edition, Ruins of Myth Drannor was the first game attempting to comprehensively adapt those rules.
Critical reception
In the first two weeks after it was released, Ruins of Myth Drannor's sales reached the number one spot on GameSpot's bestseller list.However, many customers returned the game and so it did not finish out the year in the top 10 list of PC video games sales. It received lackluster reviews and was plagued with bugs. One major bug would cause a player's system files to uninstall when the game was removed. I know i is no game on GOG... but seeing as there ae a lot of helpful game enthusiasts here in the gog comunity iv decided to ask a question... you see i have this game pool of radience and there seems to be no problem with it other than i can' see the charicters theree must be a glitch i havent seen an forums or game sites where players have his old game it seems as if time has forgotten this game does enyon know of a fix or patch tha can make the charicters visable again gratful to anyone who is kind enough to help thanks damian sampere

Sorcerer's Place has an archive of official patches for RoMD. I can't say whether any of the patches can address the issues you're facing but it may be a good place to start. If not, you can try their forums. I believe there is still the occasional thread about the game there.

When I played this in XP,it occasionly done this.Didn't use patch,but the only fix I found was to come out of game back to desktop and reload game.At the time it fixed that problem.

I remember wanting the '90s remake of this one so badly (as a huge fan of these games) but I never picked it up. I remember thinking the physics looked amazing - I think the game boasted destructable objects that could be used as improvised weapons, or moved and set up as cover etc. For reasons I don't recall I never picked it up; then when I heard it was a bit of a mess I decided never to do so. Now however I wouldn't mind giving it a shot at all. I actually hope it ends up here. Anyone know why it doesn't?

Grargar: Yup. The GoldBox games and the remake's rights are held by Ubisoft (In fact, the original publisher of the remake was Ubisoft themselves). Did not know that - thanks again! Believe it or not, Ubi was one of my favorite devs / pubs for a long time. Obviously I've been unhappy with some of their recent moves but for a while they had a string of amazing properties in their stable. So I'm surprised I didn't realize this was one of theirs.
